How ductless works
Efficient comfort, one room at a time
A ductless mini split has two main parts: a compact outdoor unit and one or more slim indoor units mounted on the wall. They're connected by a small refrigerant line that passes through a hole only a few inches wide — no ductwork, no torn-up ceilings.
Each indoor unit has its own thermostat, so you heat or cool only the rooms you're using. Because there are no ducts to leak, very little of the energy you pay for gets lost along the way.
Single-zone or multi-zone?
- Single-zone — one outdoor unit, one indoor unit. Ideal for a bonus room, garage or addition.

Do ductless mini splits heat and cool?
Yes. Mini splits are heat pumps, so the same unit cools in summer and heats in winter with independent control for each room.
How big of a hole does a mini split need?
Usually just a few inches wide for the refrigerant line, drain and wiring. The line is covered with a neat line-set cover on the outside of the house.
Can one outdoor unit run several rooms?
Yes. A multi-zone system connects several indoor units to one outdoor unit, each with its own temperature setting.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Most mini splits need a dedicated circuit. Our own team handles the electrical work as part of the installation.
How do I maintain a mini split?
Rinse or vacuum the indoor filters regularly, keep the outdoor unit clear and schedule periodic professional cleaning of the coils and drain.
